Pantry Policy

Please take a few minutes to review this information so you have a better idea about how to effectively use Maria’s Place Campus Food Pantry. The purpose of the food pantry is to provide supplemental food and other necessities to students who need this kind of assistance.

Maria’s Place Food Pantry Guidelines

  • Operating Hours: Generally Monday–Friday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. during the academic year, and Monday–Friday, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. during the summer. Please verify current hours by calling (860.832.3662).
  • Eligibility: Services are available to students enrolled in the current semester.
  • Student ID Requirement: Bring your Student ID for every visit—without it, service cannot be provided.
  • Check-In Process: Each visit requires a check-in and a short questionnaire to help track pantry usage and food distribution.
  • Visit Limit: Students may visit the pantry once per week.
  • Food Limit: Each student may fill one standard grocery bag per visit.
  • Item Selection: Students may take up to two of the same food item, unless otherwise specified.
  • Food Availability: Products depend on donations and regional food bank supplies. Availability varies week to week.
  • Mindful Selection: Please take only food items you will use to ensure fair distribution for all.

We receive most of our food from donations and from the regional food bank so we must provide these organizations with data. The products offered depend on their availability. We try to provide as much variety as possible while sticking to our budget and providing for the basic food needs of our users. Please only take the kinds of food you will actually use so that we have plenty for everyone.

If you have any questions, please email us at foodpantry@ccsu.edu or visit the pantry and speak to one of our volunteers.
