Sixth-Year Certificate in Educational Leadership

ÃûæÂÖ±²¥ to Impacting Educational Change.

ÃûæÂÖ±²¥'s Sixth-Year Certificate in Educational Leadership prepares graduates to play an influential role as leaders in a public or private school organization. Our program meets the state requirements for the 092 Intermediate Building Administrator or Supervisor certification. This certification opens opportunities for educators to serve as department chairs, assistant principals, principals, directors, or assistant superintendents among other roles. We also offer a concentration in Special Education for those interested in deepening their understanding of administration for special education.

Students in the sixth-year program participate in a variety of engaging learning activities designed to connect coursework to the real-life experiences of educational leaders. Courses incorporate a variety of teaching and learning strategies and activities to foster collaboration and connection among class colleagues alongside the professional growth of each student. The program also includes a culminating internship to allow students to apply their growing understanding of leadership.

  • Starts every January, May, and August.
  • 30-credit program.
  • Flexible classes delivered in diverse formats that include tailored experiences.
  • Classes that meet the time constraints of working professionals.
  • Accelerated program of 18 credits that leads to 092 certification eligibility but not the full SYC degree may be available for students who hold another SYC or advanced degree.
  • 092 certification may be combined with our EdD program.
  • Financial aid is available.
  • No GMAT/GRE required.

Hybrid and Online Programs

Our SYC in educational leadership program offers students the flexibility to select courses that allow them to participate in a hybrid program of courses with face-to-face and online course sessions, or a fully online program experience.
